The power of language
English changed my life so I’m building something to help others get that same shot.
For native speakers, English is "default"
But for the rest of us, it’s might be everything.
It’s the difference between staying local or going global.
Between having potential or unlocking it.
Here’s how English transformed my life:
📌 It changed my mindset:
I grew up in Hanoi, where tradition runs deep and the outside world felt far away.
But English became a window into new cultures, ideas, and ways of thinking.
Learning language made me realize people around the world live differently, and instead of judging that, I learned to stay curious.
📌 It unlocked global knowledge:
My first full-time job was in the back office at McDonald’s, and it became so much more than just a job, all because I was proficient in English.
Driven by curiosity, I dove into regional materials and learned so much from one of the most sophisticated operational models globally.
Chosen as a teaching assistant for regional leadership programs, that unexpectedly exposed me to leadership at a very young age.
Outside of work, English became my learning superpower.
I devoured TED Talks, business books, global frameworks, seize every single opportunities while studying abroad.
It helped me think bigger, lead better, and self-educate beyond borders.
📌 It accelerated my career:
I became a manager at 24, leading regional projects and working across multinational teams.
I might not have been the smartest person in the room, but I could communicate, collaborate, and lead with confidence.
English became my leverage.
Some say, “Just use Google Translate or ChatGPT”.
Sure, for reading and writing.
But speaking is high-stakes and deeply human.
No app can speak for you in a job interview, a pitch, or a business meeting.
English isn’t just a language.
It’s economic power and a life-changing advantage.
And everyone deserves access to it.
Had a similar experience? I’d love to hear from you.
Or maybe you see it differently, does learning the language even matter today?
